    What the Heck cant get online......

    hi imm haveing problems with Knoppix-std and Knoppix 3.2 and Demo Linux 3.0.1 the exact same problem with all three i cant connect online with my modem maybe you can help

    56K PCI Voice Modem SF-1156IV R9A is the name of my modem
    made by Conexant
    is there any drivers or something i need because when i go to connect i set everything up and ive tried everything i can think of and i cant get online sometime's itll say initallizing modem then itll say modem cant be found or its not responding or its busy well i dont know what the heck but can some one please help thanks

    First try setting up pppconfig or kppp to see if it detects the modem. If they don't, then you probably have a software or "winmodem". Use the scanModem tool from http://www.linmodems.org to see if you have a software driven modem that requires a specialized driver.

    Nawwwww. Go to a terminal and tyoe in lspci -v and if your modem is on the list it works.

    ok

    ok i tryied that it and everything came up and it showed my modem this is what came up about my modem

    thats the name of it and all but now what should i do lol so... hope you can help me out some more thanks
