The Pegasus R8 Thunderbolt 2 workhorse for sale here. Outfitted with 32TB of new HGST Ultrastar Enterprise drives ALE640These drives are absolute butter, and rather expensive.
The chassis has a few imperfections and scratches and dents. But what matters is the new Enterprise drives that have been barely used.
The new drives were bought in 2023. The device itself although scuffed was only periodically used. The usage would be to turn on the device once a month to perform a periodic backup for the servers it was connect to. Then turned off for another month.
The device comes fully initialized. As in consecutive 1's have been written across all drives.
The speed of the RAID 0 config it is currently in is around 1250MBs write and 1250MBs read
This is obviously the THUNDERBOLT 2 version not the newer THUNDERBOLT 3 version.
I've taken pictures of all of the serial numbers of all of the drives just fyi.Thanks for looking!
