interesting you say it does not by default, my knoppix ( 3.7 ) auto runs in 1280 x 1024 ?
....*boots up other box to check he's not going crazy and seeing resoloutions that arent really there* Does the following 'cheat code' yield nothing? screen=1280x1024 |

how do i use the cheat code?
when i go to configure my desktop, it is set to 1024 x 768 by default. and that is the largest it can go up to. is there a file i can go into and enable it to 1280 x 1024 by default, so i can burn myself another copy of knoppix? everything is so large that i have to sit 3 feet away from my screen so that my eyes do not feel funny. |

to change your screen, you need to su and then kxconfig |
