Glad to see I am not the only one into mini-cd's.I am on dialup so mine is not up for download anywhere yet but I also made a 245meg mini that has 711 packages installed.

It features mozilla,gaim,xchat,qcad,sylpheed,gimp,icewm,sketch,xcircuit,gftp,iceme,xine,xmms,lokkit,htmldoc, eterm, xcdroast,cdrtoaster,tkpaint,bluefish,gxedit,scite,xfm and a ton more.

I added xdialog and replaced the knx-hdinstall script and templates with 0.30 as well as the boot-en.img so it's 100% english and installs to hdd (I am on it now).

I removed wine,kde,isdn,psi,zsh,gpsdrive, as well as xfonts-intl-* and all those orphaned libs.I kept all the tools,xservers and it just plain rox both live and on the hdd.Yours looks like it rox as well.I have a compleate pkg list on my site and the "things I added" may be of intrest to you as it looks like we like about the same things.

Would you also put up a package list and mabey write a howto?

Hey all, nice that there're people who actually were interested

Been boarding last week, sorry that i didn't reply. I've got a number of idea's that might prove quite useful and i hope i'll be able to play around a bit more with live cds this week.

Going to play around with lilo and the kernel some more (i'm never happy with a kernel i didn't build myself, and i started with knoppix to do something useful for Debian-Desktop...), get on those specialised versions, make a GTK installer (might rip some code from PGI), and generally make something that should look useable and installable enough for the GUI folk under us. (and i need to put some effort in a dutch version *sigh*)

Oh well, it's great to see that slimmed-down knoppix distro's are popping up everywhere, i might be able to get some space at uni to put them up on a big pipe, as now it's stil a bit messy where you can get what (i'll post it if/when i get some room). Tech2k is right when he stated that we more or less have a similar distro/idea, which is good as we copy good ideas from eachother (havn't looked at knoppix light yet though) and build a better mousetrap.

I'm not going to write howto's or the like, or i must make something really exciting, as imho there is more than enough documentation about remastering as it is. I'll try to keep my KnopNL page a bit up to date, probably have a new version next weekend. Havn't looked into using a flop as a home/etc dir, you're on your own there Japie (mail me if you really want to and i might be able to give you some pointers on what you could do)
