You can save your config to a floppy disk already.Originally Posted by yangwawa

Sorry about my lauguage! English is not my native lauguage, but it is not a matter for loving the Knoppix!
I have an idea that there is better booting from the KNOPPIX linux-on-cd and has a command which loading the configurtion we set for startup! So, there is only one CD-ROM and one floppy device needed for any circumstance(with samba, at schedule, my users, group ... ).

Hi yangwawa & firebyrd10
If you have a DVD burner as well as a CD drive to boot from
you can make a clone of a KNOPPIX or KANOIX CD.
You can easily make a custom DVD that will boot to do
what you want with no keyboard input.

well this idea was implemented already in 2003Originally Posted by adrianmak
Just use: K, Knoppix, Configuration, Save configuration
Then boot up with:
knoppix myconfig=scan
And it'll automatically find the config file.

assuming knoppix can configure your internet connection automatically, it would be awesome if there was a web store that you could have knoppix store your settings and/or home directory. some web service that would contain updates and all the files that you used. maybe if you put too much stuff in there, it would be a drag to wait to download it all, but hey, small settings would be awesome to load off the net with a cheatcode like knoppix mywebstore=accountusername
