Startup script and noscsi

Okay, three things that have been bugging me about remastering

1) i'd like to add a startup script for a java tool that i'm running on my knoppix. can i just add a script file with 'java myfile' to the rc5.d folder? this is a graphical java program, so i would need it once X was fully loaded.
b) is there any way to permanently turn the noscsi item on so i don't have to use the cheatcodes? i've tried modifying the autoconfig script about 4 times, and am left with 4 cds that all do the same thing
iii) where would i go if i wanted to remove the desktop icons and shrink the panel? i know you can do that in control center, but those things won't stick when i make a new CD. is there a file somewhere maybe?

2) On the cd-portion of your remaster, you'll need to mount boot.img and a loop and edit syslinux.cfg and add "noscsi" and whatever cheatcodes you want AFTER ".... BOOT_IMAGE=knoppix" Should be line 2.
