Is it the broadcom 4400 or 5700?

Might try Overclockix, Technomancer version. It has some broadcom drivers, though I don't know of anyone who has tested to see if autodetection picks them up or if they have to be loaded manually...

    it is 5700.

I got the driver and am going to install it. it is just I though for future releases it would be nifty
to have this driver. Even if autodetection does not find it, may be some tool could put it iin
manually (SuSe which I have used so far had some of this functionality in its Yast
    administration tool)

I have a look thanks for the pointer.
