Anyone aware of facilities or services in KNOPPIX to image backup my HDD and to restore the HDD using that image to a HDD?
Knoppix looks to be a solution that could do this natively, easily.

You could use http://www.dmailer.com/dmailer-backup.html and image/backup ur hdd , is a free software and i has a lot of features that are usefull in many ways and you will be able to store the backup online on their servers.
I am using it for more than 2 years and i never had 1 error with this software and the backup / restore process is pretty fast.
